Vanessa Luckx Pilates Shiatsu Do In-Meridian Stretching
Founder of KokyuDo

"I do appreciate Vanessa's style. She is very professional, attentive, even for participants who have been with her for long time. She corrects the movements in a nice way. She is always smilling and makes us laugh - she has great sense of humour - also for the fact we have to move our facial muscles, according to her. You can feel the effort and energy she puts on each course.
I have to say that praticising Pilates has drastly changed my life. First my body posture - I use to bend my back, since i am 1,75. I used to have back problems and pain. Since then it is very rare I have it, except for exceptional reasons of carrying weights. Second, my way of breathing was wrong. Vanessa insists a lot on that aspect, to inhale and exale in a correct way. Third, I have created a healthy routine which I miss whan I am unable to attend the course. Fourth, each time I leave the studio I feel relaxed and in peace. And as if I have grown up 4 centimeters with the famous "étirements". I quite often practise home some exercises I have learned at the course.
The studio is located in a nice setting of "Maison de Maitre", always aired and super clean. The fact of having a daily cup of different quality tea, plus the quotes on a black board, with positive messages, is for me particularly friendly and motivating. You do feel welcomed and it prooves the devotion and dedication Vanessa puts on her studio, in order to make participants feel happy and at easy. The relationship you have with the other participants depends on the personnality of each individual. Vanessa do not interfere, rightly so, on that aspect.
I am a great fan! I do thank her for being present in my life, in a discreet but effcient way, which brings me peaceful moments."

"Good mix between stretching, strengthening and balance exercises. Vanessa is a dedicated trainer and an excellent motivator. The course helps me to control my posture and avoid back pains.
The space is very welcoming, calm and full of light, which is nice. "

"I’ve followed Pilates lessons with Vanessa for four years now. The results were visible from the first year: my recurrent backache disappeared completely, I started to feel more flexible and to be aware of my own body . And I go only once a week!
The results aren’t the only advantage of Kokyudo. Every class is a relaxing balsam in a friendly cozy atmosphere and at the end of every class I feel lighter and stronger.
In conclusion, I think Vanessa is a great teacher, I love her lessons and her spirit and I only wish I had time to see her twice a week instead of once."

"I started taking Pilates lessons with Vanessa Luckx in 2008 after having tried several other Pilates teachers who didn't live up to my expectations. I appreciated the fact that she was careful about regularly stressing the importance of the key points of Pilates and not mixing Pilates with other techniques as other teachers did, enabled us students to improve by repeating the same exercices regularly while introducing enough new exercises to avoid boredom.
A few years later I started taking private lessons with Vanessa and she was always on time and cheerful, even after a long day's work.
The opening of her own studio enabled us to discover that she was also a very tidy and organised person, searching for harmony through the matching colours of the mats, towels and other accessories, the layout of things in the rooms, keeping the space very clean and welcoming, e.g. by offering tea to her students.
I consider Vanessa a very reliable, well organised and friendly person."

"I would recommend Vanessa's classes without any hesitation. As a teacher, she is very dynamic, thorough and well-informed. She knows what she is doing despite her young age as it appears in the way she answers any question that arises in relation to specific exercises. She pays attention to every person is in the room, which helps you correct your posture and make the most out of your class. She regularly explains the reason for doing certains exercises and their effects on your health. She is demanding, but kind. I feel good after every class.
The atmosphere at Kokyudo is very pleasant, cheerful and relaxed. This centre is meant to stimulate a feeling of well being. There is always quality tea at your disposal in the small convivial kitchen, and a new philosophical/spiritual quote on the board every week. I also like the various items on sale that she brings back from Japan, I.e. tea, tea pots and cups, incense, meditation cushions, yoga mats, etc. Vanessa has a taste for beauty.
She surrounds herself with other capable young teachers. Indeed, I have also taken a number of yoga classes with Malik and was also quite satisfied."
People keep coming back because they appreciate the qualtiy of the teaching, the positive effects of the sports, and the nice atmosphere. Going to Koyudo is a treat to yourself."

"I immediately appreciated Vanessa's classes because she is a very positive and communicative person with whom you can have a laugh but she can also push you to try harder and focus on what you do not do right during the class.
She has a good knowledge of how the human body works and can advice you about the moves you should or shouldn't do regarding your personal situation and physical condition. She basically makes me feel safe as she's really available for everyone during the class, and keeps advising us on our positions and movements.
What I also like about theses classes is that they are like an oasis of fresh air during the week. It just feels good after a day at work to focus on myself, my breathing, my movements and take a break from the crazy rythm of life. The studio offers a very nice environment to take this break, and Vanessa's selection of music is a good help. And the atmosphere is generally really pleasant with the other students.
Since I've been attending Pilates' classes, I also feel better in my body, a bit stronger, even though this is not a "violent" sport, you don't really sweat and suffer too much.
So I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for some "Me" time, that makes your body and mind feel good to come and try a class with Vanessa at the Kokyudo studio. "

"Over the years, I appreciate the continuity and at the same time the progression through the courses. Classes look like they are the same but there are different every week. You don't get bored and you might even be surprised. I also appreciate the individualized approach. We feel that the courses are well-prepared. It makes me want to come back every week and to take care of myself.
There are so many things I like when I come... It is simply a nice combination between a wonderful teacher and an agreeable studio, where you come to relax and savour a cup of tea.
Thank you Vanessa for being such a great teacher!"

" I've been taking Vanessa's courses for some years now. They are a breath of fresh air, a time to pause in a complicated schedule as an active woman and mother.
As I suffer from recurrent back pain, I started with Pilates. And thanks to this practice, I've stopped my regular session with an osteopath. The Pilates courses, as they are given by Vanessa, are extremely precious to me. They engage the deep muscles, the abdominals muscles, the core, as well as the breathing and the balance.
More recently, I've discovered the Do-In course, a japanese technique of stretching and self-massage. Pilates and Do-In Are for me extremely complementary.
Yet, if these classes are so beneficial for me, it is mainly thanks to Vanessa, who is an incredible teacher, certainly demanding but how so benevolent. She is attentive to all her students, corrects every mouvement, knows the weak points of everyone and adapts her classes if necessary.
The atmosphere is at her image, dynamic and sweet, warm and zen.
Vanessa is a beautiful person and she does magic on me!"

"I started with Pilates some time ago and then followed the Do In courses when Vanessa started teaching it.
Although I had to stop my practice twice for medical issues, I came back with a great desire to find back the sound and friendly atmosphere of Vanessa's classes. After the birth of my daughter, to come to the Do In class and the nice space is very important for me because it is a moment during the week that is dedicated to me, it is a moment when I can recover my energy.
I like the way of teaching of Vanessa, a combination of discipline and joy that creates nice vibes.
The Do In course is very interesting and is very rare fo find in Brussels. To learn the self-massage to find energy and harmony is very interesting and effective, even "outside" of the classes. I strongly recommend it.
Vanessa radiates a lot of positive energy and she knows how to welcome you.
The familial atmosphere of the studio and the passion Vanessa has for her profession make the classes at KokyuDo very unique in Brussels."

"Great atmosphere. Exceptional teacher. Beautiful studio.
Not only do I like the classes, but I also like the workshops and activities Vanessa proposes.
Vanessa is a very good communicator."

" Competent teacher, very attentive to the needs of each of us, and very educational, Vanessa gives a lot of explanations, corrections, and personalized support. She build up her classes to be progressive through the one-hour-class, but also through the year. The exercices demand a constant attention on the whole body. The variety of them never let you into boredom.
Vanessa's course has helped me to develop awareness of my breathing patterns, and of the fact I was often in apnea while doing other sports. Since I come, I pay more attention to my diaphragme and my breathing. I also got a better posture and toned the deep abdominal muscles and the pelvic floor.
Every time, I leave the class with a new energy! "

" All the elements are brought together here: the pleasant studio, the smiles, the respect for others, and the respect for the body. And every week, the discovery of new stretching or new acupressure point, or informations about meridians, the how and why of the exercices,... Enough to satisfy my curiosity!
I straightway appreciated the professional and friendly contact with Vanessa. I also appreciated the attention she has for us before, during and after the class. Quite rare in this kind of disciplines, Vanessa does not hesitate to correct our postures with gentleness and finesse. With a simple touch, the body immediately gets the direction and the corrections needed. That allows us to progress, to listen to our body and to know its capacities and its limits.
I've learned that there is a balance between my emotional state and my physical state. And I detect every week where are my strengths and my weaknesses.
Thank you Vanessa! You let me discover Do-In. Thank you for your smiling welcome every week, for sharing your knowledge, for your passionate explanations, for your wise advices, for your kindness and your availability. "
